Storing Your Microgreens

It is best to store your microgreens in the refrigerator until you’re ready to use them. Leave them in plastic protective shell that they came in. That way they will not start to dry out or wilt before you serve them.

Here are some extra tips to make your microgreens last as long as possible.

Keep them cool

Microgreens like to be kept cool, so the best place to store them is in the refrigerator, preferably the crisper which is cooler than other areas of the fridge.

Keep them out of sunlight

While Microgreens need light when they are still growing, once they are harvested, they should be kept out of direct sunlight.

Wash them with care

As with any produce, wash before eating. Be mindful that microgreens can bruise easily, so handle them with care. Gently rinse your microgreens in cold running water and, if you have a salad spinner, gently run your microgreens through the spinner to dry them off. If not, let them air dry on a paper towel. ​It is best to wash your microgreens right before you’re going to use them, not before you store them in the refrigerator.
